Is Racism Prejudiced ?

I see Diane Abbot has got into trouble again for compartmentalising her prejudices. Someone needs to tell the S.S. (Sir Starmer) that referring to working class people as ‘people like you’ (as he did to the pub owner trying to evict him) is equally toxic. Also, being mendacious about his dad being a factory worker doesn’t help when dad actually owned the factory. The S.S. is about as close to the working class as I am to the landed gentry. He doesn’t seem to realise that racism, anti-semitism and heterophobia (to name but a few) are all equally toxic and to try and rank them on toxicity is in itself toxic. Lots of wannabee (or traditional) Labour voters can’t vote for them due to his duplicity (me included).

Only a couple of hours ago I had a new query about PT with a sting in the tail. He wanted to know was I gay, straight or bi. The safe answer is usually bi in these circumstances but I was in a hurry and just said I have a girlfriend. Wrong ! When I asked him to pay the £10 deposit to book the session he insisted he’d need a gay PT in case he wanted to be naked ! The query came from Facebook marketplace for those interested.

Alas, I get this now on almost a daily basis. What does this guy do when he needs to service his car ? Insist on a gay mechanic ? What about if he goes to a restaurant ? Insist on a gay waiter ? Having his shopping scanned at Tesco – insist on a gay checkout person ?

Obviously, it’s absurd. I used to encounter this gay on straight prejudice regularly as a stripper, but it was relatively moderate. Guys would come on to me and I’d hit on their straight female friend. They’d get triggered and try and poison her against me. If I went home with her they’d go into a hate fuelled meltdown!!!! Myself and my mates were happy for each other if the other one got lucky, we didn’t try and scupper it because he/she might be about to score! If you do this to your mates - get therapy !

Alas, as a PT/Masseur I get this gay on straight prejudice all the time. I usually just pretend I’m something I’m not to get the business. This is tragic in itself – a self employed curse – we can’t complain to the Human Remains department and no-one in the media wants to publicise prejudices down the pecking order. Where is Owen Jones when you need him ? Someone tell him to drop me a line so I can write a guest column for The Guardian……
